白い耳（1996.12.31）


老人の丸い背に
亀甲模様が現れている
眠い網が耳の縁から
綿菓子状に始まり
着物すがたの老いた小さな人が
靄に入り
とぼとぼと歩いてゆく
そしてきものの裾が
見え隠れして
ついには白髪が
靄に同化して
見えなくなる

砂糖ガラスに包まれた
耳の奥を
見ている人はいるのか
原生林のように
自律した真っ白い眼はあるのか

ただ網を
すたすたと
滴る花の色をひとつひとつ
背に追いやりながら
たぶん
その手の亀甲に
沈黙の油を
燃やして
水に逆立つ髪や眼鏡を
白い魚眼が
きれぎれに追尾する
